In 2019 and 2022, I was asked by Yuengling to project manage, what would come to be two of Pottsville’s largest events, with PADCO.  The Stars & Stripe Summer Celebration was merely a vision Yuengling had to bring a free concert and daylong festival to the community.  We needed to partner with a team who had the knowledge and resources to execute, what we anticipated to be, a very large event in downtown Pottsville. As the Executive Director of PADCO, Savas Logothetides, had successfully managed other events throughout the city.  His knowledge was exemplified during each team meeting, as he developed the budget, timeline and goals to meet during each milestone.  In addition, Savas not only led securing sponsorships, but exceeded goals each year.  Savas and his team go above and beyond to ensure, not only will the event be financially successful, but those in attendance have a very memorable experience. 

I honestly can't say where I'd be currently without the wisdom and guidance given from Savas. My husband and I decided that 2022 was the year to make monumental changes in our life and start the process of opening a new event space business in the downtown Pottsville area. Getting an idea or dream off the ground is never an easy feat and it's important to surround yourself with individuals who can guide and advise you. Savas has done that for us and then some. Savas helped make my dream, my reality. I always wanted to own my own skate shop and clothing store but I didn't know the first thing about opening a small business. When I was in the construction phase of my business, Savas was truly the only local business owner who reached out to check in on construction progress, asked if I needed help reviewing my business plan, and openly answered any question I had about products, restaurant set up, pricing, and hiring. So much in the restaurant world was new to me, and the feedback and connections he provided - his own personal restaurant business plan, guided advice in his business class taught through Penn State, and connections at the Schuylkill Chamber of Commerce - were critical in shaping our business. The development stage and the first months after opening can be overwhelming, and being able to bounce ideas off if someone in the industry was indescribably helpful.

When we decided to move past the concept development phase and decided to open a business, Savas was immediately available to assist us through each step of each taxing process. I’ve also worked with Savas outside of my entrepreneurial endeavor on economic development and revitalization projects that have built a community that is hungry for growth. 

Savas helped us get our ice cream truck, Heritage Hills Ice Cream Co., up and running. We met with him countless times as he walked us through how to start a business. Always a phone call away, he helped us from start to finish- creating a business plan, securing a loan, and pulling it all together for our first season.
